I live for narratives of all kinds. For stories that move people. I don’t know the child fused to my ear in my profile pic, though that sounds like a decent start to a story right there.
I took a mid-career detour in to academia and was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford, writing fiction for two years. When it was over, I taught there fulltime for three more.
I’ve published some stories -- this is one of my favorites. Someone almost gets pantsed in it. This one, about a guy selling fraudulent Red Hot Chili Peppers memorabilia on Craigslist, isn’t much longer than this paragraph.
I spend an inordinate amount of my free time on a bike, mostly with the Fireflies, a fantastic group of industry professionals raising money to fight cancer.
