It was 2023 and the Hollywood writers and actors guilds were in the middle of industry-transforming strikes. We thought, what if we could serve up high quality Haloween content to Jack fans and help out struggling Hollywood creators in the process?
First we delivered Jack food to the picket lines. Then we worked with writers from American Horror Story, Servant and the Saw film franchise to craft an original horror short around Jack’s new Angry Monster Tacos. Rather than enter production with the usual ad industry stalwarts, we worked with scrappy B-horror filmmakers to bring it to life.
The short debuted on Friday the 13th and caught fire on Tik Tok. A code buried in the short allowed 1,000 people to access a discount on Angry Monster Tacos. The fictional universe extended to 2 commercials and an IRL activation where people could use Resy to book the film’s star – a very creepy taco truck – for their Halloween parties.
