Feeding Time: A Tale from Jack in the Box

Leading up to Halloween 2023, both the Hollywood writers and actors guilds were in the middle of industry-transforming strikes. We had an idea: what if we could give Jack customers the truly scary content they were craving and help out some struggling Hollywood creators in the process?  

We kicked things off by delivering Jack in the Box food right to the picket lines, to show Hollywood creators our support. Then we reached out to writers from American Horror Story, Servant and the Saw film franchise, and worked with them to craft an original horror short around Jack’s new Angry Monster Tacos. Finally, we worked with a crew of scrappy B-horror filmmakers -- everyone from the director to the composer was from the world of entertainment – to bring it to life.

The short debuted on Friday the 13th and caught fire on Tik Tok. A code buried in the short allowed 1,000 people to access a discount on Angry Monster Tacos. The fictional universe we created extended to 2 commercials and an IRL activation where people could use Resy to book the film’s star – a very creepy taco truck – for their Halloween parties.
